Meet Chef Aleem Syed

Chef Aleem Syed has had a passion for Cooking from a very young age. He says his inspiration comes from his mother, whom he grew up with in the kitchen. Aleem took this passion and embarked on a path that paved his way too success. After graduating High School, Aleem pursued his post-secondary education at Le Cordon Bleu, which is the world’s largest Hospitality and Culinary educational institution. After receiving his passion in the form of a piece of paper, Aleem took his qualifications, talent and spatula and went into the real world. Chef Aleem believes that although he was privileged enough to attend such a school, it was his passion, mentors and experiences from then and now that has brought him where he is today.
Chef Aleem has worked for some of Canada’s most elite culinary establishments including: North 44, Canoe, Soho Metropolitan Hotel, Terra, Oro, Mistura, BLT Prime (New York City) and Diddier.  Aleem gained a broad range of experience and also contributed his talents putting him at the top of his game as a successful Chef.
Unfortunately in 2008, Aleem sustained a spinal cord injury leaving him paralyzed below the waist. As a result of his injury, he is now living his life in a wheelchair. While most people would assume that an experience like this would slow somebody down, Aleem proved everybody wrong by defying the odds and kept moving forward. His setbacks have become his ambitions; thus, bringing you all Krave Bistro.
